Brands ask us versions of the same questions before entering Punjab, so I want to answer them together, honestly, in one place.
Realistically, 60 to 90 days before reorder patterns tell you anything meaningful. Anything faster is usually early enthusiasm, not proven demand.
Start small, deliberately. A focused launch across a handful of trusted counters, watched closely, teaches you far more than a wide launch you can't properly monitor.
Often, yes. Smaller pack sizes and value-conscious pricing frequently outperform standard national pricing, especially outside major cities.
More than most brands expect going in. A distributor with genuine, longstanding retailer trust can get you a fair first look. A distributor without it means you're asking retailers to trust both an unfamiliar product and an unfamiliar messenger, at the same time.
Impatience. Pulling back support or panicking after a slow first month, right when a product is quietly building the retailer trust it needs to actually take off.
Product quality, legal compliance, and licensing remain entirely the brand's responsibility — a good distributor gets your product to market, but doesn't and shouldn't be expected to manage what happens before it reaches us.
If there's one thing three generations in this market has taught our family, it's this: Punjab rewards brands that treat it as a long-term relationship, not a quarterly target. Come in patient, come in honest about what you're selling, and the market tends to be generous in return.
